Turkey ‘politely’ requests Hamas’ Ismail Haniyeh leave the country, report says.

Turkey has requested that Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh leave the country, Al-Monitor reported Monday afternoon.
According to the report, the request from Ankara was “polite,” as Turkey attempts to situate itself as a fair broker for negotiations between Israel and Hamas.
The report also said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is trying to prevent a rift in the Israel-Turkey relationship due to the fact that he has recently warmed ties with Israel in order to improve regional ties.
In addition, since Hamas’ brutal attack on Israeli civilians which prompted the start of the war, the US has increased its pressure on Erdogan to cut his ties with the Hamas terror group.
Despite Turkey’s harsh criticism of Israel, Arab sources have said that Ankara’s condemnations are more moderate when compared to previous conflicts, and said that “Palestinian groups, including Hamas, are not satisfied with the position taken by Turkey, which has not even called the Israeli ambassador in the country for a reprimand at the Foreign Ministry.”
